Flat Ironed Hair with Curly Ends
Hiiihiii everyone! I Hope all is well,
Here’s a style post since I haven’t done one in a while.
The Story.
After that last wash day I put in curlformers. I took me significantly less time then when I first started which ended up being around 1 hour and 45 minutes, hopefully next time will be faster. I did the horrrribbblllee routine of trying to sleep with those things in with no success. I’d say I got like an hours worth of sleep total that night in increments of 5 minutes. Needless to say I was not a happy camper.
😦
I was so relieved to take them down the next morning, (thank god that part is easy because I was just not ready to deal with any more drama my hair had to bring that day.) When they all were out, I pretty much did nothing but put the curls into a pony tail. Yep, no separating, fluffing, or anything; just tossed on a satin scrunchie and left it be.
I wore my hair like that for a couple days before I started noticing the ends of the curls were getting really tangled and I was finding crazy broken strands. (Probably from when I was putting them in.) So I decided to just go ahead and straighten out the curls with the flat iron. When my hair is straight I find I don’t have so many incidents of broken strands, so that’s a plus and another reason why I just went on ahead and used heat again. The only thing that bugs me when it’s straight tho are the ends, they get really puffy and look uneven. So today I wanted to see what would happen if I used curlformers on already straightened hair. I really like the twirly curl the curlformers give but I don’t like the shrinkage, so I only used them on the very ends of my hair. To give them a nicer more uniform look.
I used a teeny tiny bit of eco styler gel and some hair spray on each section before sliding the curlformer on. After I was finished I grabbed the blow dryer and just blew the ends for about 5minutes on high. I wanted to leave them on for an hour so the curl really would set but I got impatient and took them out within the first 10minutes lol.
I’m really happy with the way it turned out. It’s a 1000x better than having frizzy ends in my book lol.
What I like the most tho, is how I can still have length without worrying about my ends looking jacked.
I think I am going to be sticking with this technique for a while before I go back into protective styling mode in a couple of months.
Well that’s it for now, Id say this was a pretty successful test run.
I’m excited to see what I can do when I really try with these tho.
🙂
thx for reading bbys ❤

Thanks 🙂
